The rocky hills and rolling plains of the South Africa battlefields have seen many conflicts, as you arrive you will get the feeling that you are stepping into history. The area is the site of two Boer wars and the Anglo-Zulu war, where thousands of British soldiers, Boers and Zulu warriors lost their lives fighting for their homelands.

You will be staying in a historic guest house that was actually occupied by the Boer armed forces during the war. If you want something extra special on your South Africa holiday, you can also choose to stay in our upgraded lodge accommodation. This is located near the battlefields of Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift, and optional guided tours to both locations are available on your battlefields of South Africa tour.

The battle of Spionkop was fought for control of the hilltop of the same name, and hundreds of British and Boers died in the conflict. The Battle of Colenso was the third and final of the battles fought during Second Boer War. The battle resulted in a heavy defeat for the British and our guide will let you know all the factors that brought about the final outcome.

This tour includes transport to the two locations, entrance fees, lunch at the guest house and tea at the battlefields Hotel in Colenso.
