Map of Kruger Park

Map of Kruger National Park

The large rondavels on the map are the most important camps in Kruger Park. The northern part of Kruger is rarely visited. It's somewhat out of the way, overgrown and the thick growth of plants and trees make it harder to spot animals. Shingwedzi is the most important camp in the northern part of Kruger.

The most important camps in the middle part of Kruger are Letaba, Olifants and especially Satara. The most logical entrance to this area is either the Phalaborwa or Orpen gate.

In the southern part of Kruger, the most important camps are Skukuza (the largest camp), Lower Sabie, Pretoriuskop and Berg en Dal. The best way to reach these camps is through either the Kruger or Numbi gate.

Many travellers combine a stay at a private park at the border of Kruger with an overnight stay in a camp in the middle or southern part of Kruger. Another option would be to only stay camps in the middle and southern part of Kruger (one night in each camp for instance). If you're planning on travelling on to Swaziland, it's best to exit the park at Malelane in the south of Kruger. Every park entrance, indicated by gates on this map, has plenty of maps and park information available.
