Mozambique AdventuresBefore or after your impressive itinerary through South Africa, it will feel great to spend a few days on a tropical beach. While South Africa can't offer this - Mozambique can. Flights and accommodation are relatively expensive, so you won't see mass tourism in this area. It's a unique country with pristine beaches and very hospitable locals. Even better, it only takes a couple of hours to fly from Johannesburg to the southern coast of Mozambique. You'll be able to step out of your cabin onto snow white beaches, before plunging into the warm azure waters. If you put on a pair of swimming goggles, you'll be able to see colourful and amazing marine life. With a little luck, you may even see a whale shark swimming by. |
Mozambique adventure #1
Affordable paradise
From the comfort of your lazy beach chair by the pool, you'll look out over an azure blue sea. While the sun sizzles into the sea, you'll see colourful, small fishing boats sail into the harbour. In the distance, you'll look out upon the paradise-like Bazaruto islands. Staying at our lodge on the mainland near the islands, is much more affordable than staying on the islands. You can still explore the tiny archipelago lying off the mainland, by taking day trips during your stay. From the harbour, you'll be able to sail out to one of the islands by Dhow, a typical African sail boat (sailing not included in the price). Then, you can lay down your towel on one of the deserted snow white beaches and enjoy the view and the sound of the surf. After a few days you'll return home from your Mozambiquan adventures completely satisfied and relaxed. Mozambique adventure #2
Family snorkelling fun
During this Mozambique adventures module, you'll stay in the coastal town of Inhambane, where you'll be able to relax and think back on your impressive trip through South Africa. You can feel the soft white sand tickle between your toes, while looking out across the mesmerizing sea. There's very little chance that kids will be bored here - they can participate in the many activities organised by the lodge. When wandering through the streets of Inhambane you'll hear African/Portuguese music coming from the houses and you might want to browse through some of the colourful stores. Aside from manta rays, dolphins and turtles, you'll also have a very good chance of seeing whale sharks while diving between November and April. A wonderful experience! Mozambique adventure #3
Paradise island for love birds
This Mozambique adventure module will make you feel like you've found Robinson Crusoe's deserted island. Not quite discovered by tourism yet, you'll still find all the necessary creature comforts here. You'll stay on the beach in a luxury cabin with private outdoor shower. A few large towels and pillows will be waiting for you on the deserted beach. Together, you'll be able to enjoy ice cold wine, fresh fruit and the best shrimp you've ever tasted. From time to time you may leave the beach to go snorkelling between brightly coloured fish that you usually see in an aquarium. Then finally at the end of the day, you can opt to head out on a sail boat to see the sun sink into the sea. Can you imagine a more romantic setting? We were searching for a very special end to this trip and we ended up never wanting to leave this place. Click here for more information on this Mozambique travel module. |
