Travel Southern Africa #1 10 day South Africa and Mozambique 4X4 tripItinerary: Blydepoort, Kruger Park, Swaziland, Ponta d'Ouro, Mkuze, St. Lucia, Durban
This short camping itinerary combines visits to some of the most beautiful locations to travel in Southern Africa and Mozambique. You'll spend the night on your 4X4 roof tent at campsites in Kruger Park and near the beaches of Mozambique.
First, you'll trek through Kruger Park in search of the big five. You can also visit Mlilwane where you'll have a very good chance of seeing swimming hippos and crocodiles. After travelling Southern Africa, you'll drive into the breathtaking sunset of the beaches at Ponto d'Ouro in Mozambique. The diving conditions are excellent and, if you like, you can swim with dolphins. You'll end your trip with a visit to Mkuze and St. Lucia. Your trip will begin in South Africa and quite quickly afterwards you'll cross the border into Botswana. The first stop is at the salt plains. The salt plains cover an area of approximately 37,000 km2. This area is great for taking pictures. Then it's time for the world famous Victoria Falls, which you can visit from your base in Livingstone, Zambia. Looking for an amazing experience? Then go on a flight above the waterfalls. Travelling over the spectacular Sani Pass and you'll visit the elevated kingdom of Lesotho.
